Spotlight Dancer/Troupe
The Gypsy Chicks
Did it make you laugh? Our name always gets a giggle out of people, and that's the way we like it! To us, it's a memorable name that exudes the amount of fun we have when we dance. Fun is something we as a troupe hold in the highest regard, because ultimately that's why we do it right? Where else does one get to dress up as a goddess/princess, dance to incredible music, form everlasting friendships with other women, AND get in shape?? We do it because it's powerful for ourselves, and for other women. It's important to us that we empower women in the audience when we dance, as opposed to threatening them. (This is a women's dance after all...) As a troupe, we encompass many different ages, body types and hair colors. We like to do things that separate us from other troupes in the area, so we're always on the lookout for fun ideas. Sometimes we'll create a Princess Theme children's event and pass out candy, sometimes we grab a father from the audience and test his sword balancing skills, we always excite the audience with fun props, and we've even been known to dance to some good old rock-n-roll. The best part, however, is when we invite the audience members to get up and dance WITH us, and they really let loose!
The "Chicks" (as we like to call ourselves) started out with Pamela's vision of moving away from another troupe and branching off to "spread her wings & fly." Her fellow dance partner stepped up and created the troupe with her, and together they became known as The Gypsy Chicks. They were seen around town in parades, festivals and many other exciting
venues. After meeting Robyn and Holly in dance classes, friendships formed and they joined the troupe as well. (Along with Robyn's daughter at times, who was always a hit at children's venues!) A year later Habib joined the troupe after having "too much fun" during the summer festivities, and here we are today, The Gypsy Chicks LLC! Always striving for more, we test the boundaries of learning, push ourselves to try new things, and look for a fun twist on the ordinary.
If you are a teacher or dancer reading this and want to get away, give us a call! We may have a space for you to learn/teach from up in Flagstaff or Sedona. We believe in Community, not Competition. If you don't know us, visit our website:

Some of our most beloved teachers include: Ava Fleming, Jeela, Habib, Jennifer Jessewin, Kathryn Ferguson, Morgiana, Samia, Suhaila, Sakti Rinek, Teesa, Yasmina and many more.
